The Town Municipal Council Chikkodi was constituted in 1973.

The town’s population as per 2001 census is 32,820.

The town has an area of 18.29 sq. kms and is situated amidst hills.

Local magistrate court has been solving the public grievances for a period of 150 years.

ಪುರಸಭೆ ಚಿಕ್ಕೋಡಿಯು 1973 ರಲ್ಲಿ ರಚನೆಯಾಯಿತು

ಸನ್ 2001ರ ಜನಗಣತಿಯ ಪ್ರಕಾರ ಪಟ್ಟಣದ ಜನಸಂಖ್ಯೆಯು 32820 ಇದೆ.

ಪಟ್ಟಣವು 18.29 ಚ.ಕಿಮೀ. ವಿಸ್ತೀರ್ಣವನ್ನು ಹೊಂದಿದೆ ಮತ್ತು ಬೆಟ್ಟಗಳ ನಡುವೆ ಇದೆ

ಪಟ್ಟಣದ ಸರಾಸರಿ ತಾಪಮಾನವು ಗರಿಷ್ಠ 42˚ ಸೆಲ್ಷಿಯಸ್ ಹಾಗೂ ಕನಿಷ್ಠ 15˚ ಸೆಲ್ಷಿಯಸ್ ಇದ್ದು, ವಾಷೀಕವಾಗಿ ಮಳೆಯು ಸರಾಸರಿ 826.64 ಮಿ.ಮೀ. ಇರುತ್ತದೆ.

ಸ್ಥಳೀಯ ಮ್ಯಾಜಿಸ್ಟ್ರೇಟ್ ನ್ಯಾಯಾಲಯದಲ್ಲಿ 150 ವರ್ಷಗಳ ಕಾಲ ನಾರ್ವಜನಿಕ ಕುಂದುಕೊರಗೆಗಳ ಪರಿಹಾರ ಮಾಡಲಾಗಿದೆ.

ಹಿಂದೆ ಪಟ್ಟಣಕ್ಕೆ "ಮಹಾತ್ಮ ಗಾಂಧಿಜಿ" ಹಾಗು ಡಾ ಬಿ. ಆರ್. ಅಂಬೆಡ್ಕರ ರಂತಹ ಪೌರಾಣಿಕ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಿಗಳು ಭೇಟಿ ನೀಡಿದ್ದರು.

ಚಿಕ್ಕೋಡಿ ಪಟ್ಟಣದಲ್ಲಿ ಸುಮಾರು 74 ರ ಕಿಂತ ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಸರ್ಕಾರಿ ಕಚೇರಿಗಳು ಪ್ರಸ್ತುತವಾಗಿ ಕಾರ್ಯ ನಿರ್ವಹಿಸುತ್ತಿವೆ.

ಪಟ್ಟಣವು 25 ಪ್ರಾಥಮಿಕ ಶಾಲೆಗಳು, 3 ಹೈಸ್ಕೂಲಗಳು, 3 ಪದವಿ ಪೂರ್ವ ವಿಶ್ವವಿದ್ಯಾಲಯ ಕಾಲೇಜುಗಳು, 1 ಎಂಜಿನಿಯರಿಂಗ್ ಕಾಲೇಜು, 1 ಪಾಲಿಟೆಕ್ನಿಕ್ ಕಾಲೇಜ್, 1 ಬಿಪಿಎಡ ಕಾಲೇಜ್, 2 ಐಟಿಐ ಕಾಲೇಜ್, 2 ಜೆಒಸಿ ಮತ್ತು 1 ಲಾ ಕಾಲೇಜ್ ಹೊಂದಿದೆ.

ಪುರಸಭೆಯು 23 ವಾರ್ಡ ಹೊಂದಿದ್ದು ಮತ್ತು ನಾಮ ನಿರ್ದೇಶಿತ 5 ಸದಸ್ಯರನ್ನು ಹೊಂದಿದೆ.

ಪಟ್ಟಣವು ಬಸವ ಸರ್ಕಲ ಹತ್ತಿರ ಒಂದು ದೊಡ್ಡ ಸುಂದರ ಮಿನಿ ವಿಧಾನ ಸೌಧ ಹೊಂದಿದೆ.

ಕೃಷ್ನಾ ನದಿಯು ಪಟ್ಟಣದ ಉತ್ತರ ಭಾಗದಲ್ಲಿ ಹರಿಯುತ್ತದೆ; ನದಿಯಿಂದ ರೈತರಿಗೆ ಉತ್ತಮ ಬೆಳೆ ಬೆಳೆಯಲು ಒಂದು ಉಪಯುಕ್ತ ಸಂಪನ್ಮೂಲವಾಗಿದೆ.
